TERMS & CONDITIONS
Behaviour
Young Centre Stagers students are required to show respect and consideration to their tutors and each other. It is an integral part of the school ethos to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone to enjoy. Any disruptive or intolerant behaviour will be reported to parents in the first instance. We are a fair and tolerant school and will work with parents to resolve any underlying issues, however, persistent bad behaviour or behaviour that we feel is detrimental to the school, our staff or other students will result in that student being asked to leave classes. In the event of a student being asked to leave the school for unacceptable behaviour, there will be no refund of fees.
Uniform & Belongings
There is a compulsory uniform of school T-shirt and hooded sweat-shirt. Uniform must be worn at all classes, with black dance trousers, leggings or track suit bottoms. Required footwear is either comfortable trainers, black jazz shoes or black plimsolls. Please make sure that all uniform and shoes are clearly marked with your child’s name, otherwise mislaid items of clothing cannot be identified. Jewellery should not be worn. Stud earrings are acceptable. For all students: Hair should be neat and tidy. Long hair tied back and away from the face.
Collection
Young Centre Stagers students must be collected from by a parent or older sibling. Please advise us in advance, preferably by email or text, if you have asked any other adult to collect your child. No student is allowed to leave on their own or meet a parent outside.
Contact Details
Please ensure we are kept up to date with contact details for all parents and guardians. In the event of a student becoming ill or needing medical attention we will contact parents or emergency contact numbers. We assure all parents and guardians that your personal details will not be passed on to any third party, in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998. If we are unable to contact an appropriate adult, we will act as loco parentis and seek medical attention as we judge appropriate. Please make sure we are kept up to date with any necessary medical information.
Payment of Fees
Fees are payable in advance on or before the first day of each term. We regret that we are unable to accept weekly payments for classes. Terms and half term weeks are based on the London Borough of Enfield school dates.
Where a parent has two children at the school, we are happy to accept payment for the second child before the second half of term commences. A third son or daughter at the school is free of charge. The free place is offered to brothers and sisters only and cannot be extended to other relatives or friends. Fees cannot be refunded for non - attendance at classes.
Photographs
We require a photograph of each student for our files. If you are unable to provide a passport size photograph with your health form, we will take a head shot when your child starts classes. These headshots are for our records only. From time to time we will also take photographs or video footage during classes/rehearsals/ shows etc., which may be used on our website or for other advertising material. Please advise the office, in writing, if you have any objection to images of your son/daughter being used for this purpose.
Notice Required
We hope your son or daughter will remain with us for many years, as most of our students do, but when the time does come to say goodbye we require a minimum of four weeks written notice from a parent/guardian. This notice must be given prior to the end of term to enable us to offer the place elsewhere.
In the event of a student not returning to a new term, without giving the appropriate written notice, an invoice will be issued for four weeks class fees, in lieu of notice.
Health Forms
A health form is sent before the trial class. The form will be sent electronically and should be completed before the trial class. If you are unable to fill out the form electronically we will ask you to fill it in on an electronic device when you arrive. You will need to inform us if there are any changes in personal or contact details.
It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to advise the school of any health problems or behavioural issues, and to keep us updated of any changes.
All health, educational and personal information is treated with the strictest confidence.
Online Classes
In the case of another lockdown, classes will transfer to an online platform (usually Zoom) for the period of time while we are unable to teach face to face.
Your son or daughter will find a warm welcome at Young Centre Stagers, and we sincerely hope that their time with us will build confidence and give them many happy memories.
